Magda Holm was born in a real sailing family, with her father Knut (harbour captain and sailing-yachtbuilder), her mother Anna (nee Kristoffersson), and her elder brothers Yngve and Tore (following the steps of their father). The whole family were good sailors and winners of many sailing trophies.
