George Lessner，Graduate of the Budapest Royal Academy of Music. Studied under Béla Bartók and Zoltán Kodály. In the U.S. from 1926. Had a spell in Hollywood in the 1930's, mostly working on cartoons for Walter Lantz. Moved to New York in 1940, where he composed an opera ("The Nightingale and the Rose") for NBC radio.
