Thomas D. Tyrrell，4th son of large Irish-Catholic family. Raised in a predominatley Irish neighborhood on Chicago's west side, family moved to the western suburbs of Chicago in 1978. Was very involved in athletics in H.S., including wrestling and other physical sports. Attended St. Mary's College in Winona, Minnesota.
