Valisa Tate was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Nolan and Vicki Fischer. She has an older brother, Jonathan, and a younger sister, Justyne. Throughout her formative years, she studied piano, cello, viola, ballet, jazz, modern, tap and gymnastics.
