Anthony Goldschmidt was born in New York City, New York in September of 1942. He attended Washington University, School of Fine Arts, St. Louis, Missouri where he graduated with honors and a BFA Degree after which he attended Yale University's Bauhaus Masters Design Programme, New Haven, Connecticut. graduating with a MFA Degree.
