His breakthrough came in 1996 when the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences invited him to screen his feature documentary, It'll Have Blinking Eyes and a Moving Mouth (1993), in its Contemporary Documentary Series alongside Oscar winners and nominees.
