François Gir was born on March 13, 1920 in Paris, France as François Pierre Girard. He was a director and assistant director, known for Mon pote le gitan (1959), Le barbier de Séville ou La précaution inutile (1960) and Malicroix (1974). He was married to Maria de Funès de Galarza.
