Elena Simonova was born on November 4, 1963, in Leningrad, Russia, USSR (now St. Petersburg, Russia). In 1985 she graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Theatre, Music, and Cinematography as an actress. Since 1985 Simonova has been a permanent member of the troupe at the Theatre of Komissarzhevskoi in St. Petersburg.
