While still a baby her family immigrated to Mexico due to the Civil War in Spain.Alicia began showbiz as a child in theater. In 1946 Alicia received the Ariel Award in Mexico the category for best child actor/actress for "El Secreto De La Solterona" ("The Secret Of The Old Maid").
