Jose Xtravaganza was born as Jose Gutierez. He took the name "Xtravaganza" after joining the Legendary House of Xtravaganza (one of the vogue houses in the united States) founded Hector Xtravaganza. He is a classically trained dancer and has been involved in the ball scene since the 1980s.
