Vivienne Powell was born in Sydney, Australia, to an Australian mother and an English father. She holds a Master of Creative Arts from the University of Newcastle, Australia, and has undertaken acting studies at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney, the Howard Fine Acting Studio and Ted Brunetti Studio in Los Angeles.
