Joshua Thaddeus Hill was born and raised in New Orleans, LA by his mother, a schoolteacher and hairdresser. His father, from whom Joshua developed his love for film, was an audio/visual technician and projectionist. Shortly after high school Joshua joined the US Navy only to be discharged a year later.
