Dash Kennedy was born Edmond Earl Williams IV in Bethesda, MD to Edmond Earl Williams III and Kathleen Kennedy. He grew up in Dallas/Fort-Worth, Texas. He earned the nickname Dash when a nearly fatal automobile accident left him in a coma.
