Careena Melia was born in Galway, Ireland and moved to the US when she was 5. She grew up studying dance, primarily ballet, and went on to train at Walnut Hill School for the Performing Arts, Boston Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and at Centre de Danse International in France.
