Jan Jackson，Born to William Greene Ashmore (writer) and Jeannette Gregorie Ashmore (painter) in southern Appalachia. Her father's brother Harry S. Ashmore was a pulitzer prize winning writer. Jan's mother's brother (E.T. Gregorie) designed the original Lincoln Continental for Ford. Jan attended NC public schools.
