Paul Kener grew up in East Mill Creek. In the ninth grade at Wasatch Junior High School he and his friends became interested in filmmaking and reeled off 13 8-mm movies. Kener earned a degree in cinematography and worked for a Utah company filming an outdoor adventure "Toklat".
