Myrtle Vane，Lena Davis was born in East Whiteland, Pennsylvania. She was the only child of Thomas and Margaret (Tucker) Davis. Her mother later married Thomas Jefferson Newbury in December 1873 and she lived with them in Iowa in Keokuk (1875) Levy (1880) and Sioux City (1885). Her son, actor Irving Bacon, was born in St. Joseph, Missouri in September 1893.
