Lawrence Collie was born in Nassau, Bahamas. He is the eldest of five children. Lawrence attended Stanborough School in Watford United Kingdom. While there he had the opportunity to perform in school plays and other drama activities. After graduating he returned to the Bahamas where he worked as a science teacher's aid for two years.
