Laura Koons, a Native Texan, was born at Webb AFB in Big Spring, Texas. Her father is a USAF Veteran Instructor Pilot and a retired DAL International Airline Captain. Her mother is an Irish-American who chose to stay at home to raise both Laura and her younger brother in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Both parents were raised in Chicago, Illinois.
