Nina Quartero was born Gladys Quartararo on March 17, 1908 in New York Ciy. She came from a close family and was the youngest of seven children. Nina was signed by D.W. Griffith when she was a teenager. She appeared in a number of silent films billed as "Gladys Quartero" and in April 1924 she was on the cover of Movie Weekly.
