Lee Kil-bora

李基宝拉,Bora Lee-Kil (1990, Korea) writes and makes films, believing that being born to deaf parents makes her a natural storyteller. Her award-winning film Glittering Hands (2014) is based on her stories of growing up moving back and forth between two worlds – one of silence and one of sound. It won the jury’s special mention for Asian New Currents at the Yamagata IDFF and was and was released theatrically in Korea and Japan. Untold (2018) received the Jury’s special mention at the Busan IFF. Her current project Our Bodies was invited to the Berlinale Talents’ Doc Station. She is a Union Docs Lab Fellow (2023), Brian Impact Fellow (2021), and Berlinale Talents Alum (2020), received the Gender Champion Award for women leaders worldwide presented from the Dutch government, and the Korea Disabled Human Rights Award.
