Richard De Roy，In 1953 DeRoy, who was in the Army reserves, was put on active duty and posted to the army film studio in Astoria, New York, where he was in a unit that made training films. Among the other soldiers in his unit were future producer Martin Starger and future novelist/writer Ira Levin.
