Matt Phillion was born March 7, 1977 in Somerville, Massachusetts, and later moved with his family to Melrose, MA as a child. He graduated from Melrose High School, and in 1995 completed a degree in English at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA, where he was an active member of the theater community.
