Nick Baldasare began his film career as an extra in the 1980 Robert Redford vehicle, Brubaker (1980), playing a prisoner. Less than 10 years later, Baldasare was offered the lead role in Beyond Dream's Door (1989), a film produced by the Ohio State University Department of Photography and Cinema.
