Two girls, actresses Stanislava Novikova and Ekaterina Novikova, take on men's work for a day. This work is the rough, hard, physically demanding work traditionally thought of as men's work, such as repairing diesel engines in a truck maintenance depot, firing a blast furnace in a smelting factory, felling trees for a logging company, test piloting planes for an aircraft manufacturer, repairing underwater pipelines for an oil company, and laying out nets on a fishing trawler. Under the direction and tutelage of the real men who actually work these jobs, Stasya and Katya discover this work is not as easy as they (and the audience) had thought.
