Hugo is a simple man who believes he is a superhero despite having never done anything heroic. His world changes forever when beasts invade his home. He naturally assumes they are after his toaster which he calls 'Ned'. He is saved by a small nameless creature who he dubs “The Last of the Great Squirrel Warriors.“ Eventually more friends join in the battle as old enemies and new monstrosities arise with their own mysterious agendas. Is this toaster really as valuable as Hugo believes it to be and does he even have a chance against tyrants as powerful as those mounting against him?
