After their mother's death, Simon and Jules Cartier discover that their father, whom they thought was dead for a long time, would still be alive. The brothers eventually travel to the confines of the province hoping to learn more about their nebulous past. A thousand miles away from the comforts of their daily lives, they realize that their father is far from the man they hoped for.
