At the end of the 19th century, Luciano, a rebellious drunkard and the son of the doctor in a small village of central Italy, accidentally kills his fiancée in a fight with the chief of the village. He finds himself forced into exile on an island of the Tierra del Fuego province, in the extreme south of Argentina. The search for a hidden treasure on the island becomes a chance for him to make up for his mistakes.
