In the first two stories, Carlo Monterossi finds himself confronted with a couple of educated and professional killers, two gypsies seeking revenge, a young hound with a broken heart, collectors and smugglers of Nazi-Fascist souvenirs, a few corpses too many and incredible cases of mistaken identity, a “dead“ who returns from the dead to retrieve a treasure, a woman who seems to have had several lifetimes and a mysterious and cruel past that returns and leaves indecipherable clues on the trail.
