White Water Fury is a thriller about four young men whose lives are irrevocably changed when a white-water canoeing trip on the river Kalix ends with a mysterious disappearance. The film tells the story of four friends; Lukas, Simon, Anders and John. Lukas and Simon are brothers and sons of Åke, a building contractor in a small-town community in northern Sweden. Anders and John are former classmates. Every summer the four friends paddle down the river Kalix, a tradition that is spiced up when they meet two sisters from Stockholm; Marie and Susanne. As the two sisters find the stream too dangerous to navigate, the four friends decide to pitch camp on the riverbank and party with them. After a wild night of heavy drinking, they wake up to find the younger of the two sisters, Susanne, missing without a trace. The police are put on the case and Detective Superintendent Lindberg tries to force an account of that night’s events out of the four friends, but receives only evasive answers. The police search the area b helicopter, but find no trace of the missing girl. The gang sticks together at all times, but as the police unravel the events of that night their solidarity slowly begins to crumble. It seems as though the river Kalix harbours a dark secret.
