Hugh Masekela, a jazz musician and activist in South Africa, had to be away from his country due to apartheid for over 30 years. In 1968, he gets a big success by winning a Billboard no. 1 with ‘Grazin’ in the Grass’. He deserts his son and leaves America to inform people of his music and the circumstances of South Africa. This is a true documentary about music and family showing through a father expelled from his country and his son abandoned by him.
