This is movie is a trademark of Rubartelli's work. It photography is amazingly beautiful and portraits accurately the mystery of the rain forest that cover one third of Venezuela. It portraits the life of a small Yanomami kid and how he changes when he meets the white man (in this case, woman as performed by Flor Nunez). It delivers all the magic of a virgin culture. The most appealing feature of the film is the masterful photography in the lens of Rubartelli and the performance of Nunez and the little Yanimami kid. If you love films that are just natural , not commercial and not main-frame, please, don't miss this jewel. It is just precious. Born in Florence in 1937, Franco Rubartelli sprung into international prominence as a fashion photographer beginning with his 1965 editorials for Linea Italiana, and French, English, and Italian Vogue, the most famous of which featured the German model Vera Gottliebe von Lehndorff, aka Veruschka, with whom he began working in 1963, first in Italy, then New York, then back to Italy in 1967, where they lived together in a penthouse in Rome, and produced numerous features for Vogue and the other Condé Nast magazines over the next three years. During the 70's he moved to Caracas where he continues working as a director, helping to renew Venezuelan cinema, of which he is considered one of the founding fathers. In 1978 he made the feature film Simplicio, set on the island of Margarita, and in 1985 Yakoo, interpreted by the Venezuelan actress Flor Nunez. He also works in the fields of advertising and television as the owner of producciones Franco Rubartelli.
