Erich Wolfgang Korngold -- A Portrait tells the story of a composer who, as a child prodigy in Habsburg Vienna, became the musical sensation of Europe¡¦s opera houses and concert halls in the 1920s. Later finding a new fame in Hollywood, writing romantic movie scores (Oscar winning score for Errol Flynn¡¦s Robin Hood) Surviving family members and Brendan Carroll (biographer) remember him and provide innumerable insights into the details of Korngold¡¦s working life. The Korngold Society (Hamburg) has provided unlimited access to over 300 photographs, home movies and unheard, private tapes of the composer at work.
