Anna Sokolowska - (b. 1933). Film director, screenwriter. She studied film directing at the State Academy of Film & Theatre in Lodz, 1951-1956. Then, worked as an assistant director to W. Jakubowska, A. Bohdziewicz, M. Kaniewska, 1956-1961 Received the Prime Minister's Award for her children's films in 1975. Recipient of numerous awards at film festivals including Poznan (1975, 1977, 1988), Teheran (1974), Moscow (1988).
