"Gitta, a young woman who was a famous primadonna before her mariage abandons her husbans and her son for the sake of theatre and got to Russia with an actor. She performs as a dancer at a cabaret, and she is very popular with Russian officers. A Russian colonel falls in love with her, and her lover, the actor who is a wastful and depraved man, makes an appointment for the colonel with Gitta. Colonel wants the woman to be his lover, but she refuses. Gitta’s lover is a gambler, first he forfaits Gitta’s jewellery, than he forfaits Gitta. After years when the fist world war is breaking out, the colonel helps Gitta to leave Russia. She returns home to seek her family. She learns about her husband’s death and her son’s disappearance.
