Hans Jørgen (Jørn Jeppesen) is a carpenter's apprentice who seeks spiritual values beyond the work of the day. When his mother dies, he is thrown into a crisis. Neither his father (Poul Secher) nor his employer (Peter Nielsen) can comfort him.
