A strikingly realised poetic tale, based on an old folk ballad of a maiden who sets out to search for her lost fiancé in the turmoils of war. The beloved is found in astationary hospital where the Grim Reaper is preparing for his gloomy task. The puppet animation was inspired by the poem Legend od a ead Soldier by Bertolt Brecht. The film could also be seen as an artist's statement of the war raging in Balkan, the heart of Europe. Prize-winner of Nordisk Panorama 1995, Tampere 1996, State Film Award 1996.
