Miranta (Jenny Karezi) is a rich and spoiled daughter of an Athenian businessman. She accompanies her father to Mesolonggi, where they have fish farms in the best areas of the salt marshes. The local fishermen try to set up a union in order to defend themselves against exploitation by their bosses. Miranta seduces a charming, stout-hearted man (Giorgos Fountas), upsetting his life and his relationship with the woman he loved and was about to marry.
