Eric Gregg, young claim adjustor for Central Casualty Insurance, has interesting work but low pay, to the chagrin of wife Nona who spells marriage with a dollar sign. Much prettier sales clerk Pat secretly loves him, but he`s devoted to Nona. Eric`s investigative successes cause big trouble for an organized insurance-fraud gang, who see his wife`s venality as the perfect wedge to topple him. But Eric (with a little help from his friends) counters with a surprising strategy.
