Masa, a beautiful and graceful young islander, has a chance encounter with the handsome and self-confident Athenian painter, Agis. Before long, Masa accepts Agis' proposal to pose for him as a model, and as one thing leads to another, the two fall head-over-heels in love with each other. However, when Agis returns to Athens with Masa, he becomes infatuated with a seductive theatre actress, forgetting his promises to Masa.
