A poor but relatively successful young singer, Alexis, meets again, after many years his childhood sweetheart, Eva, who is spending the summer on an island with her mother and their gardener. Their love reignites, but the mother is against this union. To avert marriage she makes up a well-kept "secret": that Eva is an adopted child, and Alexis is her brother. The truth, however, lies elsewhere, because Eva's real brother, Grigoris, soon appears , removing all obstacles between the two lovers.
