Opera singer Gina Gioverni only lives for her art and for her blind mother. One day, one of her admirers that she refused to marry commits suicide. Alexandre, a young artist, takes advantage of it to draw a satirical cartoon mocking the diva. His work happens to be published in the press and the public starts hissing her. She who is accustomed to the adulation of the public, finds it hard to stand general reprobation.
