The film presents the life and death story "of the love of life" of two young Communist lawyers during the economic crisis of the 1930s and the evolution of Romania's political life towards fascism . They undertake a sabotage action on a Romanian-German armaments factory and then release a party leader who was arrested by State Security during a labor strike in Galati port .
