An English version of "Rechov Sumsum" (1983) released as a mini-series on PBS and as a video series. Instead of Big Bird, we have a big porcupine named Kippi and a brown grouch named Oofnick who is Oscar`s cousin. The show teaches children about the areas throughout Israel and about the Jewish holidays like Chanunakah. The second wave of episodes, aired in 1992, used more of a variety format (except for the Passover episode) while still teaching about Judaism. Every episode contains a guest appearance, including 3 by Oscar the Grouch.
