A giant international oil conglomerate,Phelps Petroleum,masterminds an amateur cross-country auto race for a million dollars in gold. Headed up by CEO Major Leonard ,for more the sake of corporate publicity ...despite his reclusive nature. In the race were a street-wise guy named Tony, a rich snob named Bruce, a country singer named 'Dolly' (no relation) and Bill & Judy, a yuppie couple . Along with getting across the U.S. ,the drivers must use Major's hidden clues to figure their next moves. *Originally aired on ABC in the summer of '78 the film was hoped to made into a TV series that never materialized.*
